Alle, an artificial intelligence-based fashion stylist, has been named Google Play's best app of 2024, a nod to the growing influence of AI in our everyday lives.
The search giant has come out with a list of its best Android apps and games in India for 2024, spanning various categories including everyday essentials, personal growth, and hidden gems and different form factors such as large screens, multi-devices, and watches.
Started by former Meesho executives Prateek Agarwal and Harshit Madan in 2023, Alle is an AI-powered fashion stylist and studio that allows people to discover and create personalised fashion ideas.
The app, which was also named as Google Play's Best for Fun app of 2024, allows people to seek expert fashion advise for occasions, try-on outfits virtually before shopping and purchase all or part of an outfit they see in an image or a curated collection across various brands and retailers. The app is available on Android and claims to have more than 400,000 downloads.
“We noticed that the recent developments in Gen AI, combined with evolving consumer preferences for visual inspirational content, will create a massive opportunity to reimagine and rebuild how people discover and shop for fashion. This realisation led us to start Alle" Agarwal said in a statement.

A look at the Google Play's 2023 winners in India
Headlyne, an app that uses AI to deliver personalised news to consumers, has been named as Google Play's best for personal growth app. It has articles from prominent news sources tailored to the user's interests and preferences. It also allows users to filter out negative news and find age-appropriate articles for young readers.
In a blog post, Google said India has emerged as a global leader in AI mobile app downloads, accounting for 21 percent of global downloads this year, citing data from app intelligence firm Sensor Tower.
"Many of these solutions come from Indian developers who are also embracing AI, with almost 1,000 apps and games in the country incorporating this technology," the firm said.
Top Android games inIndia
In terms of games, Supercell'sSquad Bustersis Google Play's game of the year. In the action multiplayer game, 10 players compete to grab and hold on to the most gems to win.
Released in May, the game brings together popular characters from Supercell’s titles such as Clash of Clans, Hay Day and Boom Beach. Players can choose from over 30 Supercell characters to build their squad and explore various map combinations and gameplay modes.
A look at Google Play's 2024 winners in Games
Supergaming's Indus Battle Royale has been named Google Play's Best Made in India game of 2024. Launched in October, the title is heavily inspired by Indian culture and mythology and is set in a futuristic India with the Indus Valley Civilization as the backdrop.
"Our team has spent over three years thoughtfully crafting its characters, environments, and gameplay features to represent Indian Art and Culture authentically" said SuperGaming co-founder Roby John said in a statement.

Krafton's flagship title Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) was the winner in the best ongoing games category, while its action shooter title Bullet Echo was the best pick up & play game of 2024.
Bloom, a puzzle adventure title from Lucid Labs, was named as the best indie (independent) game.
Other winners include Clash of Clans (best multi-device game), Yes, Your Grace (best story), Zombie Sniper War 3 Fire FPS (best on play pass) and Cookie Run: Tower of Adventures (best Google play games on PC).
Other apps winners include Sony LIV (best for large screens), WhatsApp (best multi-device app), Fold Expense Tracker (best everyday essential), Rise Habit Tracker (best hidden gem) and Baby Daybook-Newborn Tracker (best for watches).
