View commentsDetectives are probing two more fire attacks feared to be linked to a wave of gangland violence sweeping Scotland.
The latest incidents come just days after a 72-year-old woman and 12-year-old boy were caught up in the spate of targeted attacks, with the pair suffering ‘significant injuries’.
Two men had forced their way into a property in Milton, Glasgow, before assaulting the two, Police Scotland said, in an incident investigators described as ‘cowardly’.
Detectives are now hunting those behind the attack, which happened just after midnight on Saturday, as well as those behind a spate of firebombings the latest targets of which were hit in the early hours of Monday (APRIL 14).
In shocking footage of the attacks in Bishopbriggs, one figure is seen pouring what appears to be a flammable liquid over the front of a home and then another approaches the door and sets it alight.
Officers said it had been called to two addresses in the Dunbartonshire town and the blazes were extinguished. They said there was ‘no reports of injuries’.
The blazes in Colston Drive and John Marshall Drive, which are being treated as deliberate, are the latest in the wave of attacks feared to be linked to the underworld.
Six other properties have been targeted in attacks in the west of Scotland, with those incidents coming in quick succession between April 3 and April 8.
Detectives are investigating whether simultaneous fire-raising attacks on two houses in Bishopbriggs are connected to recent gangland violence

The fire attacks and the serious assault are all being treated as potentially linked, Police Scotland said yesterday.
Officers are now examining security camera footage and going door-to-door in a bid to catch those responsible.
Detective Chief Superintendent David Ferry said: ‘While we believe these attacks to be targeted attacks, I want to make it clear this violence will not be tolerated and we are following a number of lines of inquiry.
‘To attack an elderly lady and a child is simply cowardly - no one should be made to feel unsafe in their own home.

‘We are aware that videos of some of these fires have been posted online.
‘The publicising and glamorising these despicable and dangerous acts is abhorrent.
‘I would appeal for anyone who knows who is responsible to come forward, even anonymously, and bring this behaviour to an end.
‘We are using every resource at our disposal to trace those responsible for this despicable act as quickly as possible.’
The attack on Saturday saw two men force their way into a home in Egilsay Crescent, Milton, at around 12.10am, before attacking the elderly woman and young boy.
They were taken to hospital for treatment.
The suspects have been described as two teenage males who were wearing dark clothing and balaclavas.
Officers said a dark large family-style or SUV-type car was seen in the area around the time of the incident, and police want to speak to anyone who may have seen the vehicle.
The violence originally started in the east of the country, but has since spread west.
Mr Ferry said ‘arrests have already been made in connection with incidents in the East and arrests will continue over the coming days’.
